Character History:
Ever since she can remember, Mikan has been bullied by everyone around her, including her family. It got so bad that she had to treat her own wounds, and as a result of that she became extremely talented at nursing. After years of this abuse at home, at school, at everywhere, she became used to this way of life. Her talent for Nursing was noticed by Hope's Peak Academy, which specializes in honing the talents of their students. Mikan was enrolled as a result of her tremendous talent, and was given the title of Super High School Level Nurse. But bullying followed her at this school as well, although it has been indicated she was able to make friends. Yet the power of their friendship wasn’t enough to stop a much worse situation - Junko Enoshima.

Junko gave Mikan the love and attention she had desired all her life, but in an extremely unhealthy way. Junko wanted to bring the whole world into despair, and Mikan was more than happy to aid in her quest if it made Junko happy. Mikan became willing to hurt and kill in order to bring despair, and even after Juno's death, she continued on her destructive path to make the world a more miserable place. Eventually she and several of her classmates, who had also been 'infected'by Junko, were captured by the Future Foundation. The Foundation was trying to set the world back on track after the devastation Junko had brought, and one member, Makoto Naegi, believed that these students had a chance to recover from her influence. In order to prove this and help the kids, Makoto and his fellow members put Mikan and the students into a Virtual Reality program, erasing their memories of Junko.

Mikan could only remember recently attending Hope's Peak, and like the other students, she was startled to suddenly find herself on an island. On this island, their teacher was a 'magical bunny' named Monomi, who encouraged the students to focus on their bonds and become friends. But the program was hacked by the dead Junko - her consciousness had been downloaded and brought in by one of the other students - and as a result, Monokuma took over the Virtual World. He declared the only way the students could leave was if they killed someone, and if a following trial they got away with the murder. Mikan was horrified, and believed she would be killed very soon. Fellow student Hiyoko also took great enjoyment in verbally abusing her, calling her vicious things.

Another student, Togami, attempt to defy Monokuma’s attempts by throwing a party so everyone could become good friends. Mikan had to be assured she was most definitely invited to the party, and while she have a good time initially, she wound up tripping and falling on the floor, with food and other objects splattered onto her in a very provocative position. Though she was greatly humiliated and teased about this, she still managed to enjoy herself, as she’d never had friends before. But the lights went out, screams were had, and Togami was found dead. Time for the first trial.

During the trial, Mikan found herself being very reliable, as her years of nursing allowed her to see what caused the fatal wound. As the trial progressed, the students thought Togami was killed by a knife, but Mikan found the courage to not only speak up, but shout that they were wrong – the weapon was actually five millimeters in diameter, so it couldn’t have been a knife. Finally, her embarrassing trip and reveal during the party became a crucial piece of evidence, as the murderer was the only one not to have seen it. They arrived at the correct culprit – Teruteru – who was then horrifically executed before their eyes.

Sonia was the next one to come up with a party to lift their spirits, only this time it was a girls-only shindig, and yet Mikan was still surprised to be invited. But as the girls gathered at the diner, Akane came by incredibly injured after a training session with Nekomaru. Mikan instantly demanded to take care of her, taking her aside to tend to her wounds. It wasn’t too long after that once again, a body was found, and a trial was had. Mikan proved valuable in showing that victim died instantly, showing that the body was moved afterwards. During the trial, Hiyoko, the only who was still relentlessly Mikan, was suspected of committing the crime, yet Mikan had hopes she wasn’t, and at times even argued for her sake. She was also shocked to discover her likeness in a bizarre video game, and was very upset that someone had used her likeness to make something so grim. Imagine her surprise to hear that apparently it was based off real-life events! She was deeply confused, as she didn’t remember these events, and it drove her to hysteric tears.

When the trial was finished, and Fuyuhiko risked his life to save Pekoyama (and failed), Mikan rushed into the dangerous situation to try and save his life. She helped convince Monokuma that he had to play pay the rules he set, so he couldn’t allow Fuyuhiko to die. Monokuma took him away to heal his injuries. This led to the discover that the island contained a hospital, much to Mikan’s delight. She wound up spending a lot of time there, as she had finally found an environment she was comfortable in. She was also happy to see Fuyuhiko’s life had indeed been saved, and offered her help should he need any more treatment. By this time, a third party was being arranged, this time by Ibuki, to celebrate Fuyuhiko’s recovery. Mikan, once again, was greatly startled to discover she had been invited. But just like at the first two parties, she had a wonderful time with her new friends, though she kept tripping over things and apologizing for said accidents.

Abilities/Special Powers:
Mikan Tsumiki is only human, sadly enough. But as a Super High School Level Nurse she is more talented than anyone else her age, and over many adults, in Nursing. She’s capable of treating minor and life-threatening wounds and diseases. Her knowledge of medicines and medical practices is wide and vast. In addition, she can tell from a crime scene what sort of weapon would make the wounds presented, and has been used as a forensic examiner when it comes to corpses.

Third-Person Sample:
Though this world was weird and large - very large - she did not care for large things - it did have its positive points. One of them was the library, and Mikan spent a lot of time there when she needed to distract herself. Somehow this place always had new medical journals to read, and she would spend happy hours going through this information. There were also times she found stories of the lives of the other residents of Wonderland, and though she was plagued with guilt to do so, she read those as well. She desperately wanted to understand everyone better, in hopes that they would like her, want to spend time with her, and not hate her. Of course, she reasoned if they found out she was doing this, they would hate her for sure, and that made her paranoia all the worse.

It would be even worse when she heard the footsteps and knew for sure she was not alone. She would be instantly convinced that this other person would want this space all to themselves, or catch her in the act of reading, and she would quickly rush to her feet, running to this person in order to apologize to them. On days such as today, they would be at the bottom of the steps and when she saw them at the first step, she would quickly stammer "I-I'll get out of your way in just a moment! I just need to put the books back... I'm sorry for wasting your time!" But before she could turn around to clean up, her bare feet slid on the wooden floor. Since the library changed so often, it was difficult to adjust when there was a level missing or adding. Because of this, her clumsiness was somehow amplified just by being there. Her shriek echoed off each and every wall as she tumbled down the stairs, eventually landing in front of the poor stranger with her legs spread, her underwear clearly showing.

Tears burst out, as she frantically shoved her hands in front of her, trying to uselessly block out the view of her undergarments. "Don't look! Please don't Look! Oh noooo... I'm so sorry!" Instead of giving the other person any time to object, she fumbled to get up, still crying, still apologizing. "I'm sorry! How can I make this up to you? ... Do you want me to find a book for you? A big, thick one, so you can bash me in the head? C-Can I please not pick a hardcover one?" She found room to breathe, and actually listened to what they had to say, she was surprised to learn that a beating would not take place today. She stared, almost starry-eyed, unsure of what to say in return. 'Thank you' hardly seemed fair enough.

First-Person Sample:
Um, excuse me... I'm really sorry to bother all of you, but... Some of you have been getting really frustrated at the mirrors... A-And I understand! I do! I swear I do! But you shouldn't be hitting them with your fists...

The cuts from the glass can easily become infected. And there are people from different worlds and different times, who may not have had their vaccinations yet, so there could be plenty of diseases just waiting... And then I would have to give you shots.

[A momentary pause, as she giggles a bit, clapping.]

And I... really like giving shots! I really do! Hee hee...

[She then gasps, catching herself.]

U-um! But! You still should take care of yourself! If you've already cut yourself, rinse the wound, then wash it with mild soap. Then apply a sterile bandage or gauze and adhesive tape. Your closets should provide these things...

... W-was I being too forward? I'm sorry! I'm really sorry! I just... I just wanted to help! Eek!
